In my spare time, I somehow find myself on Etsy looking at shop after shop, drooling over all of the fabulous items that people make. I wish I was patient enough to make things! I would love to learn to knit, sew and make bows (maybe someday). With the holidays approaching, (okay.. still a couple months away but my Halloween Mini Sessions are THIS month), I just have to share some of my favorite Etsy/Online items. I really enjoyed getting to know Jessica and Derick last week during their session at The Harbor and Harry Meyers Park in Rockwall, TX. Jessica is a Senior at Blue Ridge High School and has around 30 kids in her graduating class. That is CRAZY to me! We did a combination of couple photos and individual photos of Jessica. They might be a young couple but they seemed beyond their years to me! Very mature and caring toward one another. When we wrapped our session Derick said, “That wasn’t too bad!” Derick – I think that was your way of saying that you enjoyed the photoshoot. Hehe!

Hello there blog friends! I would like you to meet Kelly and her son Eaiden. Aren’t they a cute duo? I photographed Kelly and Eaiden about a year ago and just couldn’t believe how much Eaiden has grown and changed since I last saw him! Just one of many important reasons why you should have family photos taken AT LEAST once per year. BLINK YOUR EYES! They’re all grown up. I was so ecstatic to see them again (not to mention have another returning customer). We met at a small Park in Dallas, TX. So small… I don’t even think I got the name but it was located in front of a really nice neighborhood. Kelly said her Dad had once photographed her there years ago so the park brought back special memories for her. Eaiden loved playing on the rocks and climbing and was such a natural in front of the camera! All of the poses and expressions you see are ALL HIM!

P.S. Don’t you just love his boots?

I wanted to share a few photos that I took of my precious little girls last weekend at a beautiful new location I found. I just can’t believe how fast they’re growing… Lillian is 18 months and Addison is 4.5 years old. CRAZY!

I had a blastttt with April and Bobby, photographing them and their baby bump was an awesome experience for me. April and I went to high school together and it was so good to see her again and catch up. She is rockin’ the baby bump and just looks fabulous pregnant! I couldn’t get over the fact that Bobby knows the sex of the baby but April doesn’t. She wants to be surprised! I’m not sure if that arrangement would work for my husband and I. I just know I’d want to get it out of him. We met up at The Fountain Place in downtown Dallas which is absolutely stunning then drove down the street to Deep Ellum.

I love the way her photos turned out. I really try to stay away from the traditional photos that everyone (well, not everyone but you know what I mean) does.. For example, I’m not interested in the heart over the belly button but that’s just me! I like to set up shots that are a little different and try to capture people as they are, I truly hope that shows in my work. I love normal meets grudge, interesting backgrounds and textures.

Bobby is fresh out of Army boot camp so they are packing up and headed to Kansas soon. I wish you guys all the best as you embark on this new adventure in life. I hope and pray that your baby is happy and healthy and that you enjoy your sleep now! Here’s a sneak peek from your Maternity Session….

Meeeeeet Jill! She’s got a super fun personality, really involved in church, and I hear she can play some softball! We did her shoot at one of my favorite locations, Deep Ellum and then drove over to the new Dart Station. Poor thing was sweating to death during her session but thanks to photoshop I hope you can’t tell. Jill goes to Wylie High School which is where I went to school! Go Pirates!

Have you ever seen The Evolution of Dance video on You Tube? My little brother is friends with Jill and showed me a recreation of the video that she did in a church talent show on You Tube. It was pretty much AWESOME and very brave! Just had to share that one Jill (you’re lucky I couldn’t find the exact link on You Tube or I would have posted it)!

Last week, I met up with two of the most important people in my life, my Dad and Step-Mom, Krista for Business Headshots near their new office. My Dad recently left his job of 15 years at a well known recruiting firm to launch his own business, Trinity Search Group. With Krista by his side, they have nearly twenty years of combined recruiting experience with an excellent track record of completing hundreds of searches specializing in the Commercial Construction industry. I could not be more proud of them for taking this leap of faith!

If you know me then you know that I am very close to my parents! It’s because of them that I am who I am today. I have SO many life lessons, stories, and wonderful memories that I can now pass along to my own children. They inspire me everyday and push me to become a better person. I could not be more thankful for my parents (all four of them)! Love you guys!
