I recently photographed Alexa’s sun-kissed senior session at Harry Myers Park located in Rockwall, TX and I was absolutely amazed by Alexa’s accomplishments as a senior! She is a very driven and outgoing girl who has accomplished a lot at a fairly young age. She was homecoming princess both junior and senior year, started her own non-profit organization at 17, was just voted class favorite and most likely to succeed by her peers at school, and will also graduate salutatorian of her class. Talk about extraordinary!

I absolutely adore Corinne! She was such a doll and so much fun to work with! She is extremely photogenic, sweet, and involved in various organizations such as Wylie High School Pirate Pacesetters (drillteam), Choir, and S.L.A.M. (freshman mentoring program). Her hobbies include ballet, reading, cooking, and doodling. I really loved her classic style and the way she tied in trendy elements to her outfits as well. I asked her if there was one thing she could do to truly make a difference in the lives of others, what would it be? Her response was to adopt children from Africa with AIDS. See… I told you she would steal your heart!

Meet Callie, the latest High School Senior Rep from Wylie East High School. You might even recognize her from THIS wedding that I recently photographed. She is actually the groom’s little sister and to me they look exactly alike. She is stunningly beautiful and has such a sweet personality. Her session took place at one of my favorite sun drenched locations called Lakeside Park in Highland Park, TX. Lighting plays such a huge role in photographs and this location is pure lighting perfection… in my eyes anyway. Meet the first official Live. Laugh. PHOTOGRAPH. Senior Rep for the class of 2012, Lexie! If I could bottle up her personality and energy and sell it, I totally would. She was a blast to work with! We had so much fun joking about you tube videos, jersey shore (don’t hate) and getting our “swagger” on while shooting at The Cotton Mill located in McKinney, TX. I often think that one of the reasons I enjoy shooting senior sessions so much is because I still kind of act like one myself. Even though a few years have gone by since I graduated from Wylie High School, I don’t feel a day older. I just have WAY more responsibility! Anyway, I’m so thankful that I had the opportunity to work with Lexie. Her positive energy is so contagious that she could make anyone smile.

Today, I have another fabulous Senior named Rachael to show off. She just happens to be a family friend of my wonderful sister-in-law Rylee so it was really fun to catch up and connect with her. We split her session up into two days and shot the first half with her horse Courage and the other half at the Fort Worth Stock Yards. As you can see from the photos below both Rachael and Courage did an amazing job and Courage loved the camera! Either that or I must have a way with horses. Enjoy!

Meet Shelbi, a fabulous Famersville High School senior that recently graduated. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with her and boy did she knock my socks off. Seriously, she could be America’s Next Top Model. She was so natural in front of my camera and did an amazing job posing! We shot half of her session at Babe’s Chicken in Frisco, TX and the other half chillin’ on a dirt road and at a really cool run down barn. Check her out ——>

It’s amazing how much I feel I get to know a complete stranger in just a one hour photo shoot. While I do ask questions that serve as ice breakers and to make clients feel at ease, I am genuinely interested in other people’s lives. Maybe not on the level of a very strange anthropology teacher I once had that didn’t wear shoes in the classroom because he wanted to feel the energy of the earth but more on the level of I’m just a people person. Meet Kyle, a recent college grad and Speech Communication major from Texas A&M University – Commerce. He was extremely inspiring to me and probably had no idea that he was giving off an inspiring vibe. He has big vision for his life or more importantly, from my hour long encounter with him I feel as if he has tapped into what God’s vision for his life is and is living it. Next up he is going to Seminary School and plans to work with a youth group in a future church home. He has committed his life to living out God’s will and I think it’s amazing that he will be investing in other young hearts. One reason why this does inspire me is because I’m a big believer myself. I might not be the perfect Christian, go to church every single Sunday, tithe as much as I should, etc. But I know in my heart of hearts that Jesus died for my sins and I’m going to heaven! If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. – Romans 10:9-10 The roots of my faith were formed in my local church youth group at a young age. It’s partly because of youth group leaders like the one Kyle will become that I am saved. Not to mention, I come from a family of strong believers! I believe that everyone has the power to make a difference and inspire others just by sharing their story. In this case, I witnessed someone from my own generation standing up for what they believe in and vowing to live out God’s will. I have a very strong feeling that because of that, his life will be very blessed. You rock Kyle!

I am so thankful for the opportunities I’ve had to work with so many amazing seniors this year. From a photography perspective, seniors are one of my favorite subjects to photograph for sure. I love that I’m documenting an important milestone in their life. Not to mention, I normally get creative freedom and open mindedness when it comes to posing and all of that fun stuff! Icing on the cake! Meet Katie… she is stunningly beautiful on the inside and out, a cheerleader at WHS and is just as sweet as can be. I can’t believe I only have a couple more 2011 seniors to post for the year.

Macey sent me a photo of the dress she wanted to wear to her senior shoot and I instantly knew that we were going to have lots of fun. Just by looking at the photo of the dress, I was able to recommend shooting at a beautiful location in McKinney, TX called The Adriatica. I feel like it was a perfect match for the vibe Macey was going for! She is a Senior at Wylie High School and an officer on her high school drill team. Her personality totally knocked my socks off and she was such a joy to work with. Be sure to check out the slideshow at the bottom!

I loved having the opportunity to shoot Allyn’s Senior Session at Babe’s Chicken in Frisco, TX! It was a perfect day for a photo shoot with a beautiful girl. I think her outfits match her location choice very well. What I’m trying to say is, my clients pretty much rock! I might also add that after getting to know Allyn, I was very impressed with her after graduation plans. She knows exactly what she wants to do and how she’s going to get there. I admire determination and having a plan especially at such a young age. I wish I had tiny clue as to what I wanted to do with my life at the age of 18!
