I can’t tell you how excited I got when I received an e-mail from Tabitha explaining that she wanted to do a session with her boyfriend Jason that is different, just for fun. It is not everyday that I get to do a couple session at Sandy Lake Amusement Park! I can now say that I officially got to ride the carousel backwards loaded down the my camera and shoot sac. LOL! It kind of made me dizzy.

Meet Bri and Briar, clearly they are meant for each other just based off their names! They happened to be the lucky winners of THIS fabulous giveaway and I was so excited to finally have the opportunity to meet them both in person at Lakeside Park located in Highland Park, TX. Bri is actually just starting out in photography herself, we had lots of fun talking up business and photography inspiration. You can check out her work HERE. I must say Briar was a very good sport listening to all of our photography talk. I just adore Monica and Tyler! They have been booked with me since last November, he finally got a short break from deployment and was home from Iraq for just a couple weeks. Now they’ll have some fun photos that will hopefully bring joy and memories through the last part of his deployment. Being a military wife myself, I so relate to what they’re going through. Much ♥ to you both and I hope you enjoyed every minute spent together!

First off, I would like to say that I hope you all had a blessed Easter Weekend. Easter just so happened to fall on my 24th birthday yesterday which was exciting. I must say I am now feeling a little sick after eating both chocolate bunnies and birthday cake on the same day!

Meet my younger brother Cody, his beautiful daughter Elizabeth and fabulous girlfriend Meaghan. I recently met up with them at The Dallas Arboretum for a little photo fun. I just can’t believe how much E has grown since the last time I photographed her >> HERE <<. Where does the time go?

I recently attended my very first DFW Shootout and had a BLAST! For those of you who may not be aware of what a shootout is, I will fill you in.  In this case, it was a collaboration of extremely talented wedding vendors and photographers that came together to mix, mingle, and shoot! I had the privilege of photographing Ebony of Ebony Peoples Events and Design and her husband Jovan. They were so natural and comfortable in front of the camera. I can’t even express how much I loved shooting this session! I love love. I love engagements and I love Shelby + Jonathan (I say that in the most non-creepy kind of way). I shot their engagement session on a cold December day in the historic downtown McKinney, TX square. They were so much fun to work with and I really enjoyed all of their in between moments. They are such a genuine couple and I could not be more happy for them. They are busy busy planning a wedding, building a house, and working full time! How exciting! I just know that Shelby will be a beautiful April bride! Congrats to you both!

I’m a bit behind on blogging my sessions and have vowed to catch up by Christmas so please check back often for updates. Cierra and Courtney found me on google! Which makes me really happy because I recently invested a Saturday night optimizing my SEO {Search Engine Optimization} so it must be working! I know you’re thinking that I’m a total geek for spending a Saturday night working on SEO but let me tell ya, this business is a one woman show! Back in the day, when I worked in finance for a recruiting company in Plano, TX I would call IT for computer issues, my boss with questions, and the intern for supplies and maybe even lunch. Now that I work for myself, I am the IT the book keeper, the photographer, the photo editor, blog poster, the everything! Let’s just say I learn something new everyday! Anyway, back to Cierra and Courtney, I really enjoyed getting to know them and their fur babies they brought to their session. To be honest, I’m not much of a dog person but these dogs rocked in front of the camera and made my job super easy. Courtney showed off his awesome new boy toy and Cierra has the best laugh I’ve ever heard. Not kidding! She says her friends and family tell her that she’s loud but Cierra, I say laugh on…

Meet my very best friend Ashley and her boyfriend Nathan. Emphasis on the word boyfriend, they are not engaged. Nope, not today anyway! Maybe someday soon? Nate? I met Ashley in 5th grade math class. We have been partners in crime ever since. She is my best friend. The person I can talk to about anything, the person that can read my mind, and the person that will always tell me exactly what she thinks. Do you watch Grey’s Anatomy? Meredith calls Christina her person. In Grey’s Anatomy terms, Ashley is my person. Everyone needs a person, right? Today happens to be her 24th birthday! Gosh we’re getting old. Ha! Happy Day of Birth Ashley!!!!!!!

Below you will see photos from my experimental off camera lighting/night shoot at the State Fair of Texas. I was just a little nervous about the outcome but overall I’m pretty happy with the results. Playing with off camera lighting is super duper fun and I can only get better at it from here. I can’t wait to do it again!
